He then ventured off on his own to Southern Pines, NC in the late 1980's where he was able to build his business. In 2000 he purchased the current base of CDP Stables in the heart of the Southern Pines, NC eventing community.
Charlie has brought many horses up the levels, including top place finishes at Fair Hill, Southern Pines HT, Radnor and Rolex Kentucky.
He has also coached the Area 3 YR Team in the 1990s.
Notable accomplishments include:
- Won the 1993 Fair Hill 3* with Landino
- Short-listed for the 1994 Barcelona Olympics
Meet the Team
As a child Susan was watching the Olympics on television and saw Princess Anne tackle the famous maze complex. It was in that moment that Susan told her parents that is what she wanted to do. As they day, the rest is history. Susan went on be an A graduate Pony Club, discovering her true passion at a small riding stable in the center of Charlottesville, VA.
Susan's career with horses took off when she began her successful teaching business in Charlotte, NC from 1994-2003 before basing out of the Fork Stables from 2008-2011. At that point Susan moved to Southern Pines to further her training with her top horses Wolf and Prowler. With these two stars Susan completed many 3 and 4 star courses, as well as completing Kentucky 5 star with Prowler.

- Assistant Trainer and Barn Manager- Hayley Norfleet
- Hayley is a well known face at all the local horse shows as she is known for being able to catch ride just about any horse and come home with a blue ribbon. Hayley's passion for horses began from her father, Llyod, an avid horseman with a special interest in Thoroughbreds. From there Hayley and her sister Ryan were never found far from their horses. Not much has changed today, if ever lost you can be sure to find her at the barn riding or teaching until long after the sun has set.
